Captured media and local app data
Photos, videos, and microphone audio are processed by iOS and Screet on your device. Files saved to Screet's Hidden Gallery remain in protected local app storage and are excluded from device backups. If you save media to Apple Photos, Apple may sync it through iCloud according to your Photos and iCloud settings. If you share or export media, the destination you choose processes it under its own terms. The app does not automatically send captured or imported media, thumbnails, filenames, or gallery contents to Screet, PostHog, or RevenueCat servers.
Limited in-app product analytics
Screet automatically uses PostHog Cloud EU to measure a limited product and purchase funnel: first capture completed, paywall shown, purchase started, purchase succeeded, cancelled or failed, Pro activated, and cancellation-survey submission. Event context may include the first capture's media type and free or Pro state, paywall placement, product and package identifiers, localized price and currency, a stable purchase error code, activation source, a selected cancellation reason, event time, pseudonymous install and session identifiers, and technical app or device context such as app and build version, iOS and device model or type, screen size, language, time zone, connection type, and analytics SDK version. Automatic lifecycle, screen-view, element-interaction and push-event capture, person profiles, session replay, PostHog surveys, and automatic error capture are disabled. Screet's direct in-app PostHog events do not include captured media, screen contents, filenames, gallery contents, contacts, names, email addresses, or cancellation-survey free text.
Purchases, subscriptions, and optional cancellation feedback
Apple processes App Store payments. Screet uses RevenueCat to load products, validate receipts, restore purchases, manage entitlement status, prevent purchase fraud, and measure subscription performance. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app user record, purchase, receipt and entitlement information, paywall information, selected funnel stage and counter fields, the pseudonymous PostHog identifier used to connect product and purchase stages, and standard Apple Ads attribution when available. RevenueCat also receives an identifier for vendor (IDFV) and technical request context such as device and platform type, OS version, app version and build, bundle identifier, preferred locale, App Store storefront, and StoreKit or SDK information. If you voluntarily submit Screet's cancellation survey, RevenueCat also receives the selected cancellation reason and submission date. Screet does not send RevenueCat captured media, your Photos library, contacts, or biometric data.
Support communications
When you email support, Screet processes your email address, message, device and app details, and any files you voluntarily provide to respond to and troubleshoot your request. Support communications are not collected through in-app analytics and are retained only as reasonably necessary to resolve the request and meet applicable legal or security obligations. Do not send sensitive photos, videos, or identifying information unless it is necessary and you understand the risks of email.
Apple Ads attribution
After RevenueCat is configured, Screet enables Apple's standard AdServices attribution token collection. RevenueCat sends the token to its service and requests standard attribution information from Apple. When Apple makes it available, campaign, ad group, ad, or keyword attribution may be associated with subscription performance. This flow does not use IDFA, does not request App Tracking Transparency permission, and is not used to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. Screet does not display third-party advertising.
Device permissions
Camera, microphone, Photos, notifications, and optional Face ID access are requested only when needed for the feature you choose. Apple controls these permissions in iOS Settings. Screet does not receive your biometric data; it receives only the result of the device authentication request.
